tl;dr strategy
In phase 1, spin the dragon slowly around the room while running goo to the edges; in phase 2, stay out of the goo side of the room and dodge exploding bugs.

Fight Overview
The fight against Nythendra alternates periodically between two phases: Plagued Dreamer and Heart of the Swarm.

Hero takes place at the start of the fight, when there isn't a lot of goo on the ground yet (and people aren't dodging exploding bugs in phase 2).

Phase 1: Plagued Dreamer
The boss will be tanked in the center of the room. The raid should spread out, close to the boss, all on the boss's left side. The raid leader should put a raid marker at the tank's initial position and another next to where her left side will be, as a guide to initial positioning.

Every so often, a raid member will be hit with Rot. That raider needs to run out of the raid toward the edge of the room and find a clear spot; when Rot expires, it will leave goo on the ground. Note that you need to start running immediately, as you will be radiating damage the whole time.

In addition to the random Rot, she will afflict the current tank with Volatile Rot - the other tank taunts while the previous tank runs to the edge of the room.

Twice during this phase, the boss will breathe Infested Breath in the direction of a random raid member; everyone run away from that position. Infested Breath puts goo all over the ground in its path, so the tanks should rotate the boss about 90 degrees to the left after Breath ends to ensure there is clear ground next to the boss. Accordingly, when dodging Infested Breath, DPS and healers directly in front of her face should run left; only run right if you'd have to run through most of the breath to go left.

If you managed Rot, Volatile Rot, and Infested Breath properly, you should fill no more than half the room with goo by the time phase 2 starts.

Tanks:
Swap on Volatile Rot and run Rot to the edge of the room. Turn the boss slightly whenever she does Infested Breath so that there is a clear area on her left side.

Healers:
Run Rot out to the edge of the room, dodge Infested Breath (preferably run left).

Sources of damage for concern, in decreasing order: Infested Breath while people are still running out of it (raid damage). Tanks with Volatile Rot (tank and raid damage). People with Rot who haven't gotten out of the raid yet (raid damage). People with Rot (individual damage).

DPS:
Run Rot out to the edge of the room, dodge Infested Breath (preferably run left). Stay close on her left side unless you get Rot.

Phase 2: Heart of the Swarm
Nythendra will collapse and begin sucking the goo puddles toward her. This is why it was important to keep all the goo on one side of the room - the entire other side of the room should be clear of goo and you won't have to dodge any.

What is there are a bunch of insects. Periodically, an insect will swell up, then explode multiple times in a Burst of Corruption shortly after. Each burst does increasing damage - more than one tick will probably kill you, all three ticks definitely will.

Tanks:
Nothing to tank in this phase - you are effectively a weak melee DPS. See DPS section.

As the end of the phase approaches, head back to the starting position (or as close as you can without getting hit by moving slime or explodey bugs) so that you can put her back in position at the start of the new phase 1.

Healers:
Stop casting heals immediately if a bug swells up next to you. Run through her at the end of phase 1 to get back to the initial position.

Sources of damage for concern, in decreasing order: People who are slow to run out of the slime side of the room at the start of the phase. People who are slow to get away from explodey bugs.

The better people are at dodging explodey bugs, the more time you can spend just pretending to be a caster DPS. (If you're a disc priest, you were gonna be pretending to be a caster DPS anyway, so people being good at dodging bugs means you don't have to worry about keeping Atonement up as much.)

DPS:
Keep burning the boss, but run away immediately if a bug swells up (ranged DPS stop casting, melee DPS get out of melee if necessary). Run through her at the end of phase 1 to get back to the initial position.

Strategy tweaks after previous raid:

At the end of each phase 2, everyone will return to initial positions, to avoid confusion as to where to stand in the next phase 1 (i.e. don't have people on both sides of her). Raid markers will be placed on these positions before the pull.

The boss will be turned after each Infested Breath. People should prefer to run left for Breath.
